Every day, someone in your community faces thoughts of suicide. And every day, caring people like you have the power to help keep them be safe. I have seen veterans struggle with these thoughts and I have seen family members struggle. It is real and if we CARE and see value in everyone we interact with, we can help.
You do not have to be a counselor or mental health professional to help. You just need to be someone who's willing to care, to listen and to take action. Have an "I have your back" attitude.
Why it matters.
Suicide can touch anyone - and yet, many of us aren't sure what to say or do when someone might be at risk.
There are organizations like LivingWorks that empower ordinary people to provide lifesaving help in extraordinary moments.
I challenge you to become part of community wide readiness.
